How do I setup a node on CentOS 7?

Use the following instructions to setup a node on CentOS 7.

Update your CentOS machine.

yum update -y

Install the EPEL repository.

yum install -y epel-release

Install the required dependencies.

yum install -y autoconf automake boost-devel gcc-c++ git libdb4-cxx libdb4-cxx-devel libevent-devel libtool openssl-devel wget nano unzip
yum install -y zeromq-devel python-devel bzip2-devel qt5-qttools-devel protobuf-devel qrencode-devel

Install Berkeley DB from source code.

cd $HOME
wget https://download.oracle.com/berkeley-db/db-4.8.30.zip
unzip db-4.8.30.zip
cd db-4.8.30
cd build_unix/
../dist/configure --prefix=/usr/local --enable-cxx
make
make install

Create a directory for the source code.

cd $HOME
mkdir source_code
cd source_code

Note: replace “examplecoin” with the name of your coin.
Note: replace “6gs39011kick8xmqutpkrvi92xx5kwev4ykanlv1ls0ouuae5x” with the coinID of your coin.

Download the source code from MyCoin. (Available for a paid coin)

wget "https://dl.walletbuilders.com/download?customer=6gs39011kick8xmqutpkrvi92xx5kwev4ykanlv1ls0ouuae5x&filename=examplecoin-source.tar.gz" -O examplecoin-source.tar.gz

Extract the tar file.

tar -xzvf examplecoin-source.tar.gz

Execute the following commands to compile the daemon.

./autogen.sh
./configure
make

The compiling will take about 60 minutes depending on your system hardware.

Install the daemon.

cp src/examplecoind src/examplecoin-cli src/examplecoin-tx /usr/bin/

Create the config file.

mkdir $HOME/.examplecoin
nano $HOME/.examplecoin/examplecoin.conf

Paste the following lines in examplecoin.conf.

rpcuser=rpc_examplecoin
rpcpassword=69c863e3356d3dae95df454a1
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
listen=1
server=1
txindex=1
daemon=1

Start your node with the following command.

examplecoind
